MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Analytics

The MSc Finance and Economics is a year-long, full-time course at the University of Southampton. Designed to build a strong foundation in the principles and practice of finance within an economic framework, this course enables students to focus on advanced economics and econometrics. Students have the option to specialize in areas such as financial risk management and investment analysis.Course Content: The course encompasses a wide range of study areas including Financial Risk Management, International Finance, Econometric Methods, Microeconomic Theory, and Macroeconomic Theory. It also includes a Research Methods in Economics and a Dissertation stage, allowing students to delve deeper into a specific area of interest.Key Modules: Core modules include Microeconomic Theory 1, Macroeconomic Theory 1, Econometric Methods 1 and 2, International Finance, Financial Risk Management, and Applied Financial Security Analysis. Optional modules include Econometric Methods 3, Microeconomic Theory 2, Macroeconomic Theory 2, and Financial Derivatives.Accreditations: This programme is recognised by the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute's University Recognition Program, an acknowledgement that the curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and prepares students for the CFA examinations.Future Careers: Graduates of this course will be well prepared for roles within financial institutions, government bodies, non-governmental organisations and international organisations.
