The LLM Maritime Law program at the University of Southampton is a full-time, 12-month course that aims to extend student's understanding and knowledge of maritime law, focusing on the practical aspects of shipping law. This advanced law course in the context of commercial shipping is specifically designed for students who wish to focus on the relationship of the maritime law and commercial shipping. Course Content: The programme starts with a pre-sessional induction about the English Legal System. Offering a range of units, the course allows you to shape your studies towards special areas of interest, such as maritime law, commercial shipping, or international trade. The programme incorporates the private and public laws that cover maritime issues.Key Modules: The key study modules include Maritime Security; Compensation for Marine Pollution Damage; Admiralty Law; Marine Insurance Law; Wet Shipping; International Sales Law, and Maritime Conflict of Laws among others. Future Careers: Graduates of the Masters of Maritime Law are well-equipped to pursue various legal careers.
