Meng Civil Engineering and Architecture

The Integrated Civil and Infrastructure Engineering and Architecture course (MEng) provided by the University of Southampton, combines broad civil engineering and infrastructure disciplines with an appreciation for architecture. This emphasis on integration embarks students on a voyage of in-depth learning that will help them master the art of technology-rich architecture embedded in civil engineering principles.Course Content: The course covers a multidisciplinary curriculum collaborating civil engineering fundamentals such as infrastructure engineering, geotechnics and structures with architectural design considerations. Students have the advantage of dissecting a real-life building project in the course's design-centric modules. Key Modules: The key modules include, but not limited to, 'Infrastructure Engineering and Architectural Design Project', 'Structures II', 'Geotechnics II' and several other modules that facilitate students tolearn about the full life-cycle of engineering projects. Accreditations: The MEng Civil Engineering and Architecture degree is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) comprising of the Institution of Civil Engineers, The Institution of Structural Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation, and the Institute of Highway Engineers.Future Careers: Graduates of the MEng Civil Engineering and Architecture program can look forward to a wide range of career opportunities in the construction and design industry. In addition, many graduates become chartered architects following their Part 3 qualification.
