The Computer Science with Cyber Security (MEng) course at the University of Southampton is a four-year integrated master's degree course. The program focuses on developing strong computer science skills with a particular emphasis on cyber security.Course Content: During the first three years, students will undertake a common programme of study, which includes modules focusing on key aspects of computer science and cyber security. In the final year, students will be able to specialise, choosing from a wide range of modules in advanced computer science and cyber security topics. Students also have the opportunity to undertake a group design project and to engage in cutting-edge research.Key Modules: In the first and second year of study, students will explore modules such as Programming I - Fundamentals, Programming II - Algorithms & Data Structures, Cyber Security Fundamentals, and Theory of Computing. In the third year, students will delve into Advanced Topics in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Advanced Network Security. In the last year of study, students have an option to choose from a range of modules in Computer Science.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the British Computer Society, the Chartered Institute for IT and the Institution of Engineering and Technology.Future Careers: Graduates of this degree are well-equipped for a range of careers in the technology industry, particularly roles that involve developing secure systems and defending them against cyber threats.
