Southampton University's BA in Human Geography is a three-year full-time course that offers students the opportunity to study human geography in depth. This course takes a critical and analytical approach to the subject, exploring how environments, places and spaces are both the effect and the cause of our social, political and cultural life. Course Content: In the first year, students receive a broad introduction to human geography. Together with research techniques and academic skills, students can also take optional modules, which may include: Introduction to International Relations, World Economy and Contemporary Challenges in Economics. At the end of the first year, students carry out fieldwork and apply their analytical skills they learned. In the second year, students will take core geography modules plus optional modules including: Migration and Mobility, Development Geographies and City Worlds.
