The BSc in Geography at the University of Southampton is a full-time undergraduate program that offers a broad understanding of our rapidly changing world, geographically and globally. This three-year course lets students explore fundamental geographical ideas and theories to gain in-depth knowledge about the environment, cultures, and economies. Course Content: The program covers four main core areas: Physical Geography, developing key geographic skills, Human Geography, and sixth-century module. Year one introduces the various fields of geography, provides skills-based training in geographical techniques, and offers an opportunity to further expand on interests across the University. The second year gives a grounding in geographical research skills and the key sub-disciplines of geography. Alongside core modules, students choose from a wide range of options. In the final year, students plan and carry out an independent piece of research (the dissertation) based on primary data collection to show their competence as an independent researcher, while also selecting from a range of optional modules.Key Modules: The program includes key modules such as Global Challenges, Techniques in Physical and Human Geography, Professional and Academic Skills for Geographers, Environment and Resource Management, Urban Worlds, among others.
