The Ancient History with Year Abroad BA at the University of Southampton is designed for students with a passion for understanding the past whilst simultaneously developing modern language skills. With a year abroad option, students get the chance to experience living in a different culture, expanding their existing knowledge and immersing themselves fully into the historical context they are studying.Course Content: The three-year course at the University of Southampton allows students to gain a solid understanding of Ancient History, with particular focus on the Ancient Mediterranean and Near East, including Egypt. The course content covers major periods of ancient history and introduces students to key methods, concepts and theories in the study of ancient civilizations. In the second year, students embark on a study year abroad, further enhancing their language skills and cultural understanding.
