Beng Maritime Engineering

The Maritime Engineering BEng course at the University of Southampton is aimed at students who are passionate about maritime and engineering sectors. The course combines an understanding of marine systems with core engineering skills. Students will get hands-on experience in ship design and operation, port design and operation, and marine environmental impact comprehension. Course Content: This course initiates a comprehensive understanding of maritime engineering that includes ship design, structures, power systems, marine environment and much more. It provides a great foundation in core engineering subjects with a blend of independent and group-based projects. There are also numerous opportunities for practical sessions and fieldtrips to enhance experiential learning.Key Modules: Some of the key modules in this course include Design and Computing, Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Structural Engineering, Control and Instrumentation, Electrical and Electronic Systems, Marine Law and Management, Foundation Mathematics, and Maritime Robotics and Autonomy.Accreditations: This course is accredited by The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), The Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA), and The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).Future Careers: Graduates have a wide range of career choices in the engineering and maritime sectors.
