The MSci Hons Geography (Study Abroad) degree at Lancaster University is a comprehensive four-year course that immerses students in the study of the Earth's landscapes, environments, and the places that make up our world. The course encourages students to spend their third year studying abroad, broadening their horizons and gaining new perspectives on global geographical issues.Course Content: This course allows students to explore many aspects of Geography such as biogeography, geopolitical cultures, measuring hazards, people and the sea, and many others. Students also undertake an independent research project in their final year. In the first year, students cultivate a solid foundation in physical and human geography and explore key geographical controversies. The second year allows for more specialization with several module options, while the third year is spent studying abroad in one of the University's partner institutions. In the fourth year, students research and produce an extended project on a geographical topic of their choice, while also studying more advanced modules.Key Modules: Key modules in this course include 'Geographical Skills', 'Geographical Controversies', 'Measuring Hazards', 'Geopolitical Cultures', 'Biogeography', and 'People and the Sea', among others.
