The Nuclear Engineering with Placement Year MEng (Hons) is a four-year full-time undergraduate course offered by the Lancaster University. It is a specialist degree that provides students with a solid foundation in the raw physics and uses of energy, together with an understanding of reactor physics and nuclear systems.Course Content: This course begins with a solid grounding in general engineering principles, including mathematics, materials, thermal and fluid dynamics, control and systems. Students will then study specialist topics such as reactor physics, nuclear safety, heat transfer and fluid flow, reactor theory, control and safety. During the third year, students will do an industrial placement to gain practical experience.Key Modules: Some of the core modules in this course include Mechanics, Thermofluids, Materials for Energy Applications, Reactor Physics, Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow, Nuclear Courses and Nuclear Systems.Future Careers: Graduates from this course can potentially work as project managers, R&D scientists, energy analysts, nuclear engineers designed to meet the needs of diverse applications and sectors including nuclear power generation, medicine and healthcare, nuclear decommissioning and clean-up, and more.'For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.'
