Meng Mechanical Engineering with Placement Year

The Mechanical Engineering with Placement Year MEng (Hons) is a full-time, four-year undergraduate program offered by Lancaster University. The study of mechanical engineering involves an understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinetics, thermodynamics, energy, materials, and fluid and structural mechanics. Through this course, students receive a fundamental understanding of these principles combined with manufacturing, business, management, and cross-disciplinary design skills. Course Content: The course content includes aspects of thermal processes and fluid systems, a study of engineering platforms, systems, and techniques, introduction to advanced vibration theory, advanced heat transfer, simulations and mechanics of machines. It involves core mechanical engineering principles, combined with study on manufacturing, business, management and cross-disciplinary design skills.Key Modules: Some of the key modules of the course are Further Mechanics, Engineering Mathematics, Advanced Thermofluids, and Structural Mechanics, Control Engineering, Design of Machine Elements, and Manufacturing Case Study. Accreditations: The program is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Graduates of this course can work in various sectors such as automotive, aerospace, energy, construction, pharmaceuticals, and more.
