The Zoology with Placement Year BSc Hons course at Lancaster University is designed to provide a deep understanding of animal biology while also offering an additional year-long industry placement scheme. This hands-on industry experience allows students to gain practical skills and professional insights in the field of zoology. Course Content: The course structure entails studying core biology in the first year, moving into animal biology, and further specialisation in the final year. The placement year, which happens in the third year, provides students with an opportunity to work with an external organisation in the UK or overseas, related to animal biology.Key Modules: The course includes key modules such as Animal Physiology, Evolution, Living with Climate Change, Behavioural Ecology and Conservation, Marine Biology and Freshwater Ecosystems, Animal Behaviour and Ecological Genetics, among others.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology for the purpose of meeting in part the academic and experience requirement for the Membership and Chartered Biologist (CBiol).
