The Natural Sciences BSc (Hons) at Lancaster University is a flexible, interdisciplinary course that offers a unique opportunity to study across all scientific disciplines in your first year, before narrowing your focus in subsequent years. You can develop your own pathway through the degree to match your interests, whether they be broad or more specialized.Course Content: Across the first year, you will study modules from all scientific disciplines. Having gained a broad grounding in these areas, you will then choose your pathway at the end of the first year. From year two, while you may still keep a broad focus - blending biological, chemistry and environmental science for example - you can also choose to concentrate on just one or two areas. You can specialize in subjects as diverse as Particle Physics or Ecology, Quantum Mechanic or Microbiology.Key Modules: The Natural Sciences degree’s structure, with a wide choice of modules from our four departments - Lancaster Environment Centre, Physics, Chemistry, Biomedical and Life Sciences - offers you the flexibility to tailor the course according to your interests.Future Careers: Natural Sciences graduates are in demand for their excellent numerical and problem-solving skills and their ability to approach problems in a rigorous, analytical way.
