Ecology and Conservation BSc (Hons) at Lancaster University is a broad-based course designed for students with a passion for wildlife and a keen interest in the world around them. This course aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to tackle impending environmental challenges caused by climate change, habitat loss and pollution.Course Content: The course is designed with the understanding that biodiversity loss and global environmental change is one of the greatest threats of the modern age. With this in mind, the course is heavily grounded in the biological and environmental sciences. The syllabus covers a range of topics including biodiversity and conservation, understanding global biodiversity, ecosystems and ecology to environmental change and many more. Key Modules: Key modules include Introduction to Life on Earth, Biodiversity and Conservation, Understanding Global Biodiversity, Ecosystems and Ecology, Future of the Arctic, Biological Data Analysis, Spaces of Development and Understanding Sea-Level Change, among others. Additionally, in their final year, students have the opportunity to investigate a topic in depth for their dissertation project.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology which provides a wide range of benefits to students and graduates.Future Careers: Graduates are well equipped to tackle the environmental challenges that society is facing now and in the future.
