The Cyber Security with Industrial Experience course offered by Lancaster University is an undergraduate program that prepares students for a career in cybersecurity. The course places a strong emphasis on gaining practical experience, providing students with the opportunity to spend a dedicated time in industry where they can practice their learning.Course Content: This MSci course provides an opportunity for an in-depth study of cybersecurity through the elements of computer science and cryptography. The curriculum includes key designing and building secure systems concepts, cryptography, fraud detection, and system verification among the many subjects. The course comprises teaching sessions, self-learning, and practical work resulting in a strong foundational knowledge and understanding of cyber security.Key Modules: The key modules within this course span a wide range of topics, including Software Development, Understanding Malware, Intelligence Gathering, Advanced Cryptography, Cyber Defence and Countermeasures and Security Risk Analysis. Additionally, students can choose optional modules based on their interests and career goals.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS), and The Chartered Institute for IT for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered IT Professional.Future Careers: The course adequately prepares students to become cybersecurity professionals and specialists.
