In following years, students learn about nuclear power plant operation, design, safety, and waste management. The unique 3rd year spent abroad enables international learning and experience. Key Modules: Key modules in the course include Engineering Mathematics, Introduction to Nuclear Science & Engineering, Professional Skills, Thermofluids & Mechanical Systems, Energy Processes, Materials, Nuclear Power Plant Operations, Safety and Waste Management and Advanced Nuclear Engineering. Accreditations: The programme is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on behalf of the UK's professional engineering institutions for the Engineering Gateways Programme. Future Careers: This course could lead to a variety of careers in the nuclear energy sector, such as radiation protection adviser, reactor operation and maintenance, waste management and disposal.
