The Mechatronic Engineering Study Abroad BEng (Hons) at Lancaster University is an innovative programme that offers students an immersive academic experience in a balanced curriculum of mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering. This course, which spans 4 years, includes an intercalary year studying abroad at a partner institution that allows students to acquire a global perspective of engineering.Course Content: In the first year, students undergo a common curriculum that introduces the foundations of all engineering subjects. From the second year, students start specializing by studying digital and analogue electronics, signal processing, and control. The third year is spent abroad enriching students' global experience. The students then return to Lancaster for the fourth year, where they will focus and deepen their skills in advanced research and practical experience in mechatronic systems.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Engineering Mathematics, Control, Digital & Analogue Electronics, Signal Processing, and Mechatronic System Design.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of meeting the educational requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partially meeting the requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Graduates of this programme can pursue career opportunities in a variety of fields such as general and high-tech engineering, manufacturing, technology-related commercial sectors, research, and development, among others.
