The Mechanical Engineering Study Abroad (BEng Hons) programme at Lancaster University combines the study of core Mechanical Engineering principles with the opportunity to spend a year studying abroad. Through this degree, students will gain an international perspective and get an opportunity to explore new cultures.Course Content: The program provides a strong focus on the principles and practices of Mechanical Engineering, covering areas such as mechanisms, electrical circuits, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics. This broad foundation is supplemented with specialist knowledge that provides insight into the complex system-level problems faced by today’s engineers. Besides, students will spend the third year of their Mechanical Engineering studies at one of Lancaster's partner institutions overseas.Key Modules: The course modules include - Digital Systems, Materials Engineering, Vibrations and Waves, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Control and Mechatronics Design.Accreditations: This programme is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), and provides a route to Chartered Engineer status. It meets, in part, the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: The degree equips students for a variety of careers, both within engineering and in the wider business sector. Graduates from the programme have gone on to work with internationally recognised companies, including Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes AMG HPP, BAe systems and more.
