Beng Engineering

The BEng (Hons) Engineering course at Lancaster University is a dynamic and wide-ranging bachelor's degree program that propels students towards a professional career in engineering with modules covering a broad spectrum of engineering fundamentals. This course is designed to arm students with the ability to solve complex problems using both traditional and non-traditional methods, and emphasizes practical experience and insights that mirror contemporary engineering practices.Course Content: The students are exposed to diverse areas of engineering ranging from electrical, mechanical, nuclear to civil. Incorporated in the curriculum are lab-based to computer-based learning activities designed to promote theoretical understanding and practical prowess. The programme also includes a third-year industrial project which serves as a platform for students to collaborate with companies in the engineering industry.Key Modules: Key modules in this course include Fluid Mechanics, Dynamics, Mechanics and Structures, Electrical Circuits, and Thermo-fluids and Energy Conversion. Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), on behalf of the Engineering Council, for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Graduates from this course can pursue careers in a variety of industries including aerospace, automotive, chemical, construction, defence, electronics, marine, materials, oil and gas, utilities, and pharmaceuticals.
