The Spanish Studies and Mathematics BA (Hons) course offered at Lancaster University provides students with an opportunity to combine the study of Spanish language, literature, and culture with Mathematics. Spread over four years, the course allows students to become proficient in Spanish, investigate the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world and gain a deep understanding of abstract mathematical ideas and their applications.Course Content: In the first year, core modules in Calculus and Linear Algebra are taught in Mathematics, while in Spanish Studies you will join a language course suited to your level. Further Mathematics modules such as Statistics or Mathematical thinking are offered. In Spanish Studies, modules like Cultures of the Spanish-speaking world or Discovering Spanish-speaking cultures are available. During the second year, you will study Real Analysis, Abstract Algebra, and will continue studying the Spanish language along with options in Spanish literature, culture or linguistics. The third year is typically spent abroad in a Spanish-speaking country.
