The Politics and Sociology (Study Abroad) BA Hons course at Lancaster University is a unique combination of two complementary disciplines that explores local and global politics as well as contemporary social issues. It includes an opportunity to study abroad for a year, giving students an international perspective on their studies.Course Content: The first year introduces the foundations of politics and international relations and the principles of sociology. In the second year, students are given a choice of modules that delve deeper into these disciplines and it includes the option of studying abroad for a year. The final year allows students to specialize through a range of optional modules and a dissertation or a directed reading module.Key Modules: Some of the key modules in this course include Foundations of Politics, Political Theory, International Relations, Identity and Difference, Social Theory, The Social Project, Globalization and Social Change, and Sociological Imagination.
