BA (Hons) Philosophy (Study Abroad)

The Philosophy Study Abroad BA Hons at Lancaster University is a 4-year degree program. This comprehensive degree presents the opportunity for students to explore different worldviews, ethical issues, and debates, allowing them to understand the complexity and diversity of human experience. The program includes a year of study at one of Lancaster's partner universities abroad, expanding the students' cultural exposure and knowledge.Course Content: The program offers a year of studying abroad in the third year, in which students can choose from a host of partner institutions. It covers topics such as Ethics, Logic, Metaphysics and Mind among other aspects of Philosophy. The course opens up a wide range of research options for the fourth-year students, ranging from the 'Philosophy Dissertation' to 'Long Essay'.Key Modules: Modules in the first year include Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Ethics, and Philosophy and Politics. The second year includes Metaphysics, Ethics: Contemporary Perspectives, and Aesthetics. After a year of study abroad, the final year modules include Continental Philosophy, Philosophy of Race, Gender and Sexuality, and Philosophy and Religion.
