BA (Hons) History and Politics (Study Abroad)

The History and Politics Study Abroad BA (Hons) offered by the University of Lancaster aims to help students understand the relationship between domestic and international political issues, while developing a deep understanding of modern history. The program is designed to encourage independent thinking and interpretation.Course Content: This course is constituted of a variety of modules that are designed to develop a strong conceptual understanding of history and politics. Throughout, study emphasis will be laid on debates, source interpretation, problem-solving, report writing, and oral presentation. The first year of the course will introduce you to key issues and methods in the study of modern history and politics. In the years that follow, students will specialise in the areas of history and politics that interest them most.Key Modules: Some of the modules included in this course are 'Religion in Modern Society', 'Empires Past and Present', 'Twentieth Century Europe', 'Political Economy of Development', 'Indian Film and Society', 'Britain in the Twentieth Century', among others.Future Careers: Graduates of the course can look forward to a range of career prospects including public administration, journalism, teaching, marketing, HR and law amongst others.
