The Global Religions & Placement Year BA (Hons) course at Lancaster University is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and understanding of the world’s largest and most influential religions. It includes a substantial placement year which adds a practical dimension to students’ understanding of religion. This full-time, four-year long program starts in October every year. Course Content: The program starts off by teaching students about major religions’ beliefs, practices, and historical development. It covers topics like the nature of faith, the relationships between different faiths, and the role of religions in crucial contemporary issues. Students can also study extended courses looking at a particular scriptural tradition, a particular theme, or a particular religious tradition in depth.Key Modules: Some key modules include 'Religion in the Modern World', 'Introduction to World Religions', 'Encountering World Religions', 'Reading Religion', 'Methods and Approaches in the Study of Religion', and 'Religion and Violence'.Accreditations: The course is accredited by Lancaster University.Future Careers: Graduates find employment in a range of professions including the civil service, teaching, social work, the charity sector, business, journalism, and other areas of the media.
