BA (Hons) German Studies and History

The German Studies and History BA Hons at Lancaster University offers students an intellectually stimulating combination of the two areas of studies. The course introduces students to structures, vocabulary and grammar in German language, alongside historical modules that provide a unique view over different world issues. Course Content: In this course, you’ll split your time between German Studies and History. The German Studies portion covers the language, culture, and institutions of contemporary Germany, as well as aspects of German-speaking societies. As part of the History section of the course, you'll explore both world and British history, looking at key issues in the history of gender, race, religion, the environment, and more.Key Modules: Key modules under the German Studies portion include: German Language: beginners, German Language: post-GCSE, and German Language: advanced. History key modules include: From the Medieval to the Modern: History and Historians, History in Practice, and Making History: Themes in the History of Africa, Asia and the Americas.
