BA (Hons) French Studies and Theatre

The French Studies and Theatre BA (HONS) at Lancaster University is a stimulating and diverse degree program that combines the study of the French language and culture and the artistic study of theatre. The French studies component develops your language, critical, and cultural skills, while the theatre aspect equips you with the knowledge and practice of theatre practice. Course Content: This degree is structured around key subject themes, each comprising a wide variety of topics. French studies encompass topics such as contemporary France, socio-political history, culture and French cinema. Theatre studies cover topics such as performing texts, contemporary European theatre and theatre and globalisation.Key Modules: In the first year, you will take the core module "Theatre and Performance" and four other modules in French and Theatre. The second-year core module is "Performing Texts". Third-year students can pick from a vast range of options like 'Culture and Society in France from the Enlightenment to the present' and 'Contemporary European Theatre'.Future Careers: This course equips students for a wide range of future careers.
