The Film and Philosophy (Study Abroad) BA (Hons) PV37 program at Lancaster University invites students to engage in an exploration of the philosophical underpinnings that drive films, their storylines, and impacts. This course provides students with the opportunity to study abroad in their third year, offering a different perspective, and possibly even inspiration for their final year project.Course Content: This three-year program dives into how films are constructed with the first year focusing on building foundational understanding about films and cinema and its numerous aspects. The second year advances into a combination of compulsory and optional sophistication to understand philosophical questions and dilemmas posed by films. The third year is designed for students to venture abroad to partner universities, partaking in study for two semesters before returning to work on their final year dissertation.Key Modules: The course entails a plethora of modules, including but not limited to: Film Studies-The Essential Toolkit, Classical Hollywood and European Cinema, World Cinema, Film Theory, Film Genre, and Philosophy and the Arts.
