BA (Hons) English Literature (Study Abroad)

The English Literature Study Abroad BA (Hons) offered by Lancaster University is a unique and comprehensive course that not only studies what literature is, but where it comes from and the creative, political, societal, and historical contexts it emerges from. Over the course of this degree, students will be able to develop a sophisticated understanding of how literature works, and how it can change and shape the world around us. This course also offers an opportunity to spend the third year studying abroad at one of Lancaster's partner institutions, exposing students to different academic environments and cultures.Course Content: The course is structured to provide a broad understanding of English literature with a focus on critical reading and argument. The curriculum covers a range of periods, authors, and genres including Renaissance, 17th Century, Romantic, Victorian, Modernist, Post-War, and Contemporary literature.
