BA (Hons) Chinese Studies and Politics

The Chinese Studies and Politics (BA Hons) course offered by Lancaster University is a three-year undergraduate degree programme that combines the study of linguistics, culture, history, and the politics of China with the broader understanding of politics and international relations. This is a unique programme that broadens your intellectual horizon by giving you the opportunity to study Mandarin regardless of your knowledge of the Chinese language.Course Content: Year one provides an introduction to China's history, culture and society, as well as contemporary Chinese politics. From the second year, students will delve into an in-depth study of political issues, institutions, processes and behavior in the Chinese context. The third year offers a research-led teaching on key issues in comparative politics, international relations and political theory.
