MA Fine Art - Canterbury

The MA Fine Art course at UCA Canterbury is a unique, flexible and individually-tailored course developed for anyone who wishes to pursue careers or interests in contemporary fine art. Students are given complete autonomy to explore the opportunities and challenges of the sprawling world of contemporary art, while cultivating personal interests and sharpening their skills and knowledge as creative practitioners. Course Content: The MA Fine Art course provides students with the freedom to explore their creative individuality while offering support and guidance from expert tutors. Spread over three semesters, students can complete it within one year (full-time) or two years (part-time). They are expected to explore and research contemporary art and culture, as well as meeting the challenges of today’s professional art world through creative process development.Key Modules: The course includes modules like Contextual Review Report, Proposal for Practice, Contextual Review Folio, Resolved Outcomes & Critical Appraisal, Realisation of Proposal for Practice and Framing Practice. Future Careers: The MA Fine Art Course prepares students for a future career in the creative arts industry. Graduates can work as practising artists, curators, art writers, teachers, art consultants or can continue further in accompanied fields like PhDs in Fine Art or Cultural Studies.
