The MA Animation course at the University for the Creative Arts is a practice-led, studio-based programme that combines theory and practice for a comprehensive understanding of animation. Students gain the confidence and skills needed to create their own unique animations, work with industry-standard equipment, and analyse and contextualise animation within a range of settings.Course Content: The course encourages students to explore animation production through a range of methodologies and approaches; this includes traditional and digital 2D, stop motion, and 3D digital animation. There are also opportunities for cross-disciplinary projects, research and collaboration. The course content delves into the mechanics and nuances of animation production, with a focus on narrative and character development, animation history, critical analysis of animated works, pre-production methods, and post-production skills.Key Modules: The key modules include Animation Pre-Production, Animation Production (with thesis), Animation Post-Production (with thesis), and Theoretical Studies.Future Careers: The skills and experience gained on this course can lead to a variety of careers in areas such as film, television, advertising, games, education, research and the arts.
