BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology

The BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology course offered by the University for the Creative Arts is designed to give students an in-depth understanding of the relationship between design, construction technology, and building performance. The course aims to produce graduates who can apply their creativity and practicality in the design of buildings that are functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing.Course Content: The course curriculum provides a robust introduction to architectural technology and progressively builds upon this foundation. It includes three integral elements – architectural design, construction technology, and professional practice. In addition, teaching involves a significant amount of project-based learning and includes a range of support, such as tutorials, technical seminars, study trips, and frequent interaction with industry professionals.Key Modules: Key modules include Design Studio, Applied Technology, Building Science, Professional Studies, Integrated Project, and Case Study, among others.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT), qualifying graduates for Associate membership of the Institute. Future Careers: Upon graduation, students are equipped to begin their careers as architectural technologists or pursue further specialization and research opportunities.
