The BA (Hons) Visual Effects course, offered by the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), is designed for those who have a passion for storytelling and an ambition to create extraordinary visuals for film, television, and industry. The course focuses on the creation of visual effects environments, characters and creatures, as well as the creative use of light and other environmental factors. All of these skills are grounded in a comprehensive understanding of the film-making process and the requirements of the visual effects industry.Course Content: Over the course of three years, students will engage in hands-on learning with industry-standard software and hardware. They'll be introduced to the principles of film-making, as well as direct camera and light. Through assignments and projects, they'll have the chance to test the principles of staging, composition, and character, along with exploring the critical skills needed to create exciting and believable effects. Further, they would learn to create a portfolio, distinctive showreel, and a professional website to showcase their talent.Key Modules: Some of the key modules that students will study include - Visual Narratives, Visual Adaptations, Concept Research Skills, Design Exploration, Visual Effects Project, and Research and Enquiry.Accreditations: The University for the Creative Arts holds a Silver Award in the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF).Future Careers: With the skills gained from this course, graduates can find employment across a wide range of roles in the film, TV, video, and advertising industries.
