The BA Studio Practice Filmmaking course at the University College for the Creative Arts is designed to equip students with the practical skills and theoretical understanding they need to thrive in the global film industry. With access to a wide range of equipment and facilities, learners will be able to experiment with different types of filmmaking and explore various genres.Course Content: This course allows students to work across a range of moving image formats – from social media content to short films, documentaries to fashion films, and scripts to TV pilots. They will have the opportunity to explore filmmaking, scriptwriting, production design, and post-production with a particular focus on studio-based practice. Through the course, students will gain industry-standard practical skills as well as learn about the critical and historical context of their work.Key Modules: The key modules of this course include Introduction to Filmmaking Practice, Studio Practice, Advanced Studio Practice, Final Major Project, Professional Practice and Critical and Contextual Studies spanning all three years of study.Accreditations: The course features on The Guardian’s University Guide 2022 League Table for Fashion & Textiles (ranked 19th) and Film Production & Photography (ranked 22nd).Future Careers: The BA Studio Practice Filmmaking course will prepare students for a range of roles within the industry such as Director, Producer, Set Designer, Scriptwriter, and more.
