BA (Hons) Photography

The BA (Hons) Photography course at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) Farnham campus is a dynamic, research-intensive programme that empowers students to push the boundaries of creativity. The course aims to provide students with the required skills and the visual language to engage with contemporary photographic practice and critical theory.Course Content: The course includes a curriculum that emphasizes the importance of experimentation and risk-taking. It encourages students to explore their creativity through a variety of methods and techniques, with a diverse curriculum that encompasses the areas of documentary and narrative, fine art, and commercial photography. Practical workshops, lectures, and seminars complement this practical work, helping students understand the wider contexts of image production. Key Modules: Some of the key modules that students will study throughout the course are: Images and Ideas, Digital Imaging, Personal Portfolio, Contemporary Photographic Practice, Photographic Research Project. Accreditations: The course is certified with The Association of Photographers (AOP) and The British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) – both internationally recognised for their standards of practice in the photographic industry.Future Careers: The course grooms students for a dynamic and diverse range of careers including, but not limited to, Freelance Photographer, Photo-journalist, Editorial Photographer, Fine Art Photographer, Fashion Photographer, and Advertising Photographer.
