BA (Hons) Jewellery & Silversmithing

The BA (Hons) Jewellery & Silversmithing course offered by the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) is an intensive and creative course that encourages students to explore a range of materials and techniques in the designing and making of jewellery and silversmithing. The course aims to nurture creativity, innovation, individuality and personal expression.Course Content: The course comprises a blend of practical, theoretical and professional skills around a programme of design and make projects. These are supplemented by a robust programme of visiting lecturers and industry connections, including partnerships with Goldsmiths’ Centre and HS Walsh.Key Modules: The key modules focus on fundamental aspects like Design Process, Exploration of Materials, Advanced Techniques in Jewellery and Silversmithing, Design Cultures and Contexts, Professional Practice and promoting Creative and Professional Development.Future Careers: With a degree in BA Jewellery & Silversmithing, graduates can find opportunities as a jeweller, designer, maker, working in retail, in galleries, or in small businesses.
