The BA (Hons) Interior Design course offered by the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) encourages students to discover, explore, and refine their individual design identity while equipping them with the critical thinking skills and practical, hands-on experience of a wide range of materials and fabrication techniques. The course aims to prepare students for a successful career in the Interior Design industry.Course Content: Students will develop their understanding of color, materials, and light in both practical and cultural contexts; learn how to manipulate space and scale with confidence and imagination; and become adept at presenting compelling, professional pitches to clients and contractors. They will also work on individual and group projects, live industry briefs, competitions, and collaborative projects with other courses within the school.Key Modules: The key modules of this course includes Design and Material Culture, Design Practice, Design Competition, Design Projection, Specialist Project in Interior Design, plus a choice between a written or practical dissertation.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Designers (CSD) and offers the students an opportunity to achieve Chartered Designer status before they leave the university.Future Careers: The BA (Hons) Interior Design can pave the way for careers in Interior or Spatial Design, Exhibition Design, Branding, Retail Design, Event/ Set Design for Film, TV or Theatre, Furniture Design, and CAD visualisation and animation.
