BA (Hons) Illustration

The BA Illustration programme offered by the University for the Creative Arts allows students to approach traditional visual communication problems in new ways. This ensures the development of a robust and diverse portfolio, as students acquire skills applicable in a wide range of creative sectors.Course Content: The program includes a variety of modules that incorporate drawing, printmaking, and digital processes. Students will work extensively with narrative and sequence, editorial design and concept art. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to experiment and take risks to develop their own unique voice in the field of illustration. The programme also includes field trips, guest lectures, and live project opportunities that provide real-world application of illustration skills and concepts.Key Modules: These include Drawing for Communication, Sequential Illustration, Illustrative Practice, Visual Problem Solving, and Major Project. Future Careers: Graduates from this programme have found success in areas such as editorial illustration, book covers, picture books, advertising, animation, and concept art for TV and film.
