BA (Hons) Ceramics & Glass

The BA Ceramics & Glass course offered by UCA is a three years full-time program specialized in using ceramics and glass as creative materials. This course empowers students to develop their skills and knowledge in a creative studio environment. The UCA BA Ceramics & Glass course gives students the opportunity to explore design, production, and artistic aspects of working with these diverse materials.Course Content: The course content provides students a unique experience, combining practical skills with conceptual thinking. The students will learn and develop a broad range of skills, including casting, kiln forming, fusing and slumping, and other cold-working techniques. It also covers glazing, surface decoration, mould-making techniques, glass painting, raw glass making, kiln and torch work techniques. Key Modules: The key modules include 'Making: Materials and Processes', 'Contextual & Cultural Referencing', 'Professional Practice', 'Critical Study', 'Proposal for Final Major Project/Exhibition', and 'Final Major Project/Exhibition'.Future Careers: This course lays foundation for students for a successful career in fields such as studio ceramics or glass, design consultancy, arts administration, teaching, curating, or starting their own business.
