Master of Fine Art (MFA)

The Master of Fine Art (MFA) course at Cardiff Metropolitan University is a comprehensive and rigorous program that aspires to stimulate the highest level of artistic creativity and scholarship. It offers a path of extensive learning through which students can enhance their knowledge in various visual arts disciplines and bring their artistic practices to new heights while refining their research methods. Course Content: The MFA explores contemporary art making amidst a community of artists and practitioners. Here, students can test, develop, and push their creativity within and beyond their chosen media, gaining extensive knowledge in machine and hand technology, supported by the university’s excellent resources in traditional and digital technology. It includes an Independent Studio Practice throughout the course. The program lasts for one year on a full-time basis, with a part-time option spanning two years.
