BSc (Hons) Computer and Data Science

The BSc (Hons) Data Science course offered by Cardiff Metropolitan University is a three-year, full-time British programme focused on equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary for this rapidly growing industry. It combines both academic study and hands-on practice to prepare students for careers in data science.Course Content: The course covers the foundations of data science, including a range of statistics and computing subjects. Alongside core mathematics and statistics modules, students will gain an understanding of data collection methods, data storage, preprocessing, wrangling, and mining. Issues relating to ethics, legalities, trustworthiness, and governance in data analysis and science are also covered. Students will be given the opportunity to use a wide range of industry-standard software and tools.Key Modules: The key modules in this course include Cybersecurity, Data Mining, Social Network Analysis, Research Methods and Professional Skills, Time Series and Forecasting, and Dissertation in Data Science.Accreditations: The course content has been aligned with the Data Science Council's Skills Framework and the Quality Assurance Agency's Subject Benchmark Statement for Computing. It have also been designed in consultation with industry professionals to ensure it remains up to date with the latest industry trends.
