BA (Hons) Interior Design

BA Interior Design at Cardiff Metropolitan University is a full-time course that gives students the opportunity to understand, design and remake spaces, making them both functional and meaningful, taking accountability for their effect on the world. The course challenges the traditional role of interior designers and encourages students to become creative, flexible problem solvers with a high level of design skill.Course Content: The course has a multi-disciplinary approach that combines traditional teaching with project-based design studies, focusing on purpose, function, and context. This program includes collaborative and individual projects and allows students to work with real clients on a range of problems from small-scale detailed items to huge public interior spaces.Key Modules: Various modules such as Design Process, Material Thinking, Critical Studies, Interior Technologies, Portfolio and Dissertation 1 & 2, Work Experience, and Design-led Futures provide a sound learning experience.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Designers (CSD) and has strong affiliations with the Association of Interior Specialists (AIS).Future Careers: The course aims to produce graduates with a wide range of career opportunities, including environmental design, retail, global branding, entertainment industries such as film, TV, and animation, and other opportunities in public sector work such as designing social housing, hospitals or educational institutions.
