MSc Sustainable Mega-Buildings

The Sustainable Mega-Building MSc at Cardiff University is a full-time, one-year program that provides specialized knowledge in the design and operation of large buildings. With a focus on producing professionals capable of managing energy and environmental impacts of mega-buildings, the program supports a range of career opportunities in built environment, construction, and property sectors.Course Content: The course covers various aspects of sustainable mega-buildings including design, operation, and people-environment interactions. In addition, students will develop their skills on how to undertake mega-building design and retrofit projects. No single solution is applicable equally to all buildings, hence the course provides a 'context-based' approach to sustainability, where solutions are tailored based on specific characteristics of the project.Key Modules: Students will largely engage in modules such as Building Simulation, Sustainable Mega Buildings, Building Energy and Environmental Performance, Strategies and Systems for the Built Environment, among others.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), which allows graduates to work worldwide with this internationally recognized qualification.Future Careers: Graduates from this course are equipped for a range of career opportunities in the fields of building operation, design consultancy, post-occupancy evaluation, and facilities management.
