BEng Architectural Engineering

The Architectural Engineering BEng course at Cardiff University is a three-year full-time undergraduate course that provides a deep understanding of the engineering rationale related to building design. This course will develop your ability to integrate building function, form, climate, and culture into creative and functional architectural designs, while also learning about protect the environment and human health.Course Content: The course covers a wide range of topics in some areas of Engineering like Mechanical Engineering (heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics) and Structural engineering (structures, materials and geotechnics), to some areas of Architecture like architectural history, building techniques, design principles and aesthetics.Key Modules: Key modules of the course include Structures, Construction and Environmental Control, Heat Transfers and Energy, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services, Noise and Acoustics, Building Energy Management and Architectural Engineering Active Learning.Accreditations: This course is fully accredited to fulfill part 1 (Bachelor level) and part 2 (Master level) for the Chartered Engineer qualification by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) for the Institution of Structural Engineers, Institution of Civil Engineers, and the Institution for Highways and Transportation. Future Careers: Graduates of the Architecture Engineering BEng have several career options. These include working as an Architectural Engineer designing new buildings or as consulting engineers, advising on the construction, renovation, and restoration of existing buildings.
