The Adult Nursing - September Intake (BN) is an undergraduate course offered at Cardiff University. This course prepares students for a career as an adult nurse and develops professional nursing skills, knowledge, and a well-rounded understanding of effective patient care. Throughout the course, an exploration of health needs, healthcare provision and the relative treatments takes place.Course Content: The course content includes the scientific and theoretical principles that underpin healthcare practices, complexity of health and illness, public health, and interpersonal skills. Students will learn about patient centered care, professional nursing practices, clinical judgement, decision making and leadership. A strong emphasis is placed on research, enabling students to confidently utilise evidence-based practice within a healthcare setting. Key Modules: The course comprises of compulsory modules such as Biological Principles for Health, Applied Pharmacology, Professional Practice, Age and Ageing: Health and Wellbeing, Medical Law and Ethics among others. Accreditations: This course is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), qualifying students as a registered nurse (adult).
