BA Journalism and Communications

The Journalism and Communications BA at Cardiff University is a full-time, three-year undergraduate programme designed to equip students with a wide range of journalistic skills set to educate on how journalism is practiced and debated across the world. This course offers a unique mix of theory and practice, which ensures that students graduate as critically reflective practitioners well suited to meet the demands of employers in the industry. Course Content: The curriculum includes subjects such as Investigative Journalism, Journalism and Democracy, Science, Health, and Environmental Reporting, and Expertise in Journalism, thus providing a broad understanding of the field. Apart from this, the course also offers optional modules that allow students to customise their learning based on individual interests.Key Modules: Key modules in the course include Digital Journalism, Global Journalism, Video Journalism, Journalism Studies, Public Relations, Conceptual Issues in Journalism and Communications, and many more. To enhance the learning experience, a Dissertation module is also offered where students can research and write on a topic of their choice under expert supervision.Accreditations: The BA in Journalism and Communications course is recognised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), and the Professional Publishers Association (PPA).
