The MRes Science and Health course at the University of Portsmouth is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in scientific research, specifically within the health science sector. This course allows students to engage in advanced studies and build a strong foundation for future research projects. It provides a considerable amount of flexibility, enabling students to tailor their learning to their own interests and career aspirations.Course Content: The course is divided into two parts. The first part consists of several research focussed modules which provide a foundation in the methodology and skills needed for scientific research. The second part comprises of a large project where students get to apply the skills they have learnt in a specific area of their interest .Key Modules: This course includes modules on Quantitative Research Methods, Research Skills, Qualitative Research Methods and a Master's Research Project.Future Careers: Upon completion of this course, students are expected to secure positions within research institutions, clinical environments, pharmaceutical companies, or choose to embark on a PhD.
