BEng (Hons) Renewable Energy Engineering 

The MEng (Hons)/BEng (Hons) Renewable Energy Engineering undergraduate course at the University of Portsmouth is an extensive study program that aims to equip students with the skills necessary to harness and utilize renewable and sustainable energy resources. This course provides a thorough understanding of the renewable energy sector, preparing the students for a promising and sustainable career in engineering.Course Content: The course entails a comprehensive study of advanced engineering techniques, the principles of renewable energy, and understanding energy and the environment. Additionally, it includes modules on thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, control and communications, electrical and electronic principles, and mathematical principles. Key Modules: The students will undertake key modules such as Energy Management and Environmental Impact, Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, Control and Communications, Electrical and Electronic Principles, and Sustainable Energy Systems. The course also includes a research project allowing students to delve deeper into a topic they're passionate about.Accreditations: This degree is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), under license from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council. The course meets all requirements towards the educational base for a Chartered Engineer (CEng).Future Careers: This degree in Renewable Energy Engineering can lead to a variety of careers, including roles in energy consultancy firms, civil engineering contractors, manufacturers of renewable energy systems, local government, and regulatory bodies.
