BA (Hons) Language Studies 

The BA (Hons) Language Studies from the University of Portsmouth is a dynamic 3-year full-time programme that offers an opportunity to delve deeply into a wide array of language modules. This programme allows students to study one or two languages in depth or learn a new one from scratch, including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian or Spanish.Course Content: The degree course includes a variety of modules, ranging from linguistic structure analysis to language-related issues in society. Students are given the flexibility to branch out and study topics that interest them such as business, marketing, or criminology. The course also includes the possibility of a year of study abroad or work placement year.Key Modules: While the course offers a variety of modules, key ones include Language and Subject studies in Year 1 and 2, Specialist Translation, Sociolinguistics of British Sign Language, Film Studies, and Teaching English as a Foreign Language, among others in Year 3.
