The MA in Educational Studies at Queen’s University Belfast is a dynamic and creative course that prepares students for a variety of careers in the education field. Offered on both a full-time and part-time basis, the course offers prospective educators an in-depth understanding of key issues in education.Course Content: This programme has three primary components. The coursework offers students an exposure to a wide range of ways of thinking about, researching, and tackling issues in the field of education. It provides in-depth understanding of key issues, theories, and research in education. The dissertation, a piece of professionally written research provides the opportunity to focus on a point of personal interest.Key Modules: The course involves several modules, including 'Assessment and Support in Special Education', 'Exploring Literacy', 'Issues in Pastoral Care', 'Shared Education', and 'Approaches to Research in Education'. The final module, 'Research Dissertation', allows students to conduct independent research in an area of interest.Accreditations: Modules of this course have been approved as professional development for teachers by the Department of Education for Northern Ireland and recognised by the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI).Future Careers: Graduates from this course are equipped with a wide knowledge base and a variety of skills that can be used in many areas of education.
